Flavored Coffee with Spices and Syrups

Sometimes people prefer to drink flavored coffee rather than straight from the coffee pod machine. Although not all the time, this can be a nice coffee treat.

You could of course pop into your local store and buy yourself some flavored coffee, or you could make yourself some at home. There are many recipes around for flavored coffee which will tell you the exact ingredients and amounts you need to flavor your coffee to perfection. Think of the money you could save yourself by making up some recipes at home.

Here are a couple of recipes for flavored coffee that you can try at home.

French Apple Late - this makes use of both spices and syrups.
In a 16oz cup add:
2 shots of espresso,
2 shots of Torani Apple Flavored Syrup
2 shots of White Silk Chocolate Syrup
1 shot of Torani Cinnamon Flavored Syrup

Fill up the rest of the cup to 1/4″ below the brim with steaming milk, then stir to make it nice and frothy. Sprinkle with nutmet and enjoy!

Mexican Mocha Coffee - makes four cups:
1 1/2 cups of strong coffee,
4 tsps of chocolate syrup,
3/4 tsp of cinnamon,
1/4 tsp of nutmeg,
1 tbs of sugar,
1/2 cup of whipping cream

Place 1 teaspoon of chocolate syrup into each cup the mix together the whipping cream, 1/4 teasppon of the cinnamon, the nutmeg the sugar. Whip this mix until it forms soft peaks.

Put the remaining 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon into the coffee and stir.

Pour the coffee into the cups and stir to mix in the chocolate syrup. To finish off add a good dollop of the whipped mixture. Tastes heavenly!

Cafe de Olla - everyone loves the mix of chocolate and coffee, give this recipe a try, it is very easy to make at home.

For this recipe you will need:
8 cups of water,
4oz ground coffee,
4oz brown sugar
2 cinnamon sticks
3 whole cloves, and
1 square of semi sweet chocolate.

Boil the water in a pan and then add the cinnamon, cloves, chocolate and sugar. Once the mix has come to the boil, skim off the foam that has formed and reduce the heat to a simmer. Then add the coffee and allow it to steep for 5 minutes before serving.
